As an owner and breeder of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, I find it important to address the health of
the breed with prospective Cavalier owners. Producing healthy dogs with great temperament and conformation is not an easy task. It is not easy to spay or neuter that wonderful showdog who is doing great in the ring - or that
has come from a well known kennel. Beware of
the breeder who does not health test. Some of these breeders may produce some very pretty dogs but what is that worth if they
suffer from health issues as they age. I health test my cavaliers yearly with a specialist to assure that I am only breeding
dogs that have healthy hearts. I also continue to check the health of the lineage of my breeding dogs. The breeder of your dog should provide you with a health history.
